Swimming
Pool Covers

|
|
There are two main types of swimming pool
covers: Summer (solar) and winter protection covers.
|
Solar Pool Covers:
|
|
In our
area good quality solar cover can raise the pool water temperature about 10*F. The
solar cover also helps to hold the heat in the pool over night by stopping much of the
evaporation experienced by uncovered pools. In addition, a good quality solar cover
will cut down on the total amount of pool chemicals required to maintain the pool.
Solar swimming pool covers generally come in square and rectangular shapes in various
sizes which the pool owner cuts to shape of his pool with a pair of scissors.

Winter Protection
Covers:
|
|
Once the
weather turns too cold for swimming it is time to install your winter pool cover.
Actually, installing the cover is the last step in the pool winterization process which
begins with having your winter water tested by Alex our BioGuard water Analysis Computer
System. After the proper winterization chemicals have been added to the water and
the shutdown procedures performed it is time to install your winter protection
cover.
|
|
There
are two basic cover designs available. The solid cover and the mesh or porous
cover. In our area we have a lot of blowing dust and for this reason the solid cover
seems to be more popular. If on the other hand you live in a neighborhood with many
shedding trees and dust isn't a problem the best choice for you may be a mesh cover.
